Amita Karadkhedkar talks about 'fitting in'

Join your host Sanila Samuel in a candid conversation with Amita Karadkhedkar. Amita describes herself as a Techno - Functional Leader, Learner from Life, Public Speaker and a Visible Role Model.

She is a true change agent and through her advocacy on prestigious platforms such as TedX, NASSCOM, SHRM and many Multi-National Corporations and various Educational Institutions, hopes to lead not just individual changes in terms of behaviors and attitudes but also lay the foundation for systemic changes that need to happen in society.

In this clip, I asked Amita Karadkhedkar if she felt like she had to change things about herself just to try and fit in and be accepted and included?

Watch the video for her answer which will truly resonate with most of us.

She shared about how she helped herself through her pre and post transition time by seeking #therapy but also getting exposure to information from #books and other sources. This led her to realize that there is no state of perfection and the need to compare yourself to others is all created externally.

A book that Amita recommends is Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Perez.

Her approach of starting every day anew and letting go of the baggage of the previous day is a lesson we can all take for ourselves.
